Next time for swimming. We packed a picnic and loaded the kids up and went to the pool the first couple of hours were nice and we were having a great time. Then the clouds rolled in. We had hoped that they would just blow over us, but no... it poured on us. Now as a funny side note. I wanted to bring our shade thing so that when it was hot we would have somewhere nice to sit under. Aaron did not want the "hassle" of getting it and putting it up, well I wanted it so I told him that I would do it. Well as it was pouring on us guess who was grateful that their wife thought to bring it! Anyways... we had to go in because there was lightening. It looked like it would pass quickly so we stayed cramped in the lobby. For the hour that we waited the kids were going crazy! Emma ended up falling and biting through her bottom lip. It looks so bad, but healed up great! So frustrated we went home to get ready for the BBQ! Hoping it would be better!
For those of you who live in town knows what happened next... as we were BBQing outside a HUGE Storm came in with pouring rain and then hail. It looks like it was snowing. So here we all are stuck inside waiting for the storm to stop. Several hours later it finally did. And then the question of the fireworks show... where they still going to do it. After calling around we found out that they were and so we raced up there to make sure that we could see it.
Well after starting much later than normal they did start. They were nice as always but we were all freezing. Wrapped in coats and blankets. It felt like winter outside. It was so strange. Emma even fell asleep during them because it was already 11:00 by then. We lit some of our own fireworks afterwards and then headed home. At midnight we finally got home with a really tired little girl and not much to show for the day.
Then next day when people asked how our 4th was all I could really say was that it was a let down. And funny enough other said that same thing. But here is hoping to next year and having it feel more like the 4th of July!

Sorry that it was a let down for you. The weather has been really crazy this year, at least it has been here. My mom was telling me about all the crazy weather on the fourth, They always just go across the street to the park to watch the fireworks and this year it was super wet!
The weather was cray on the 4th! I've never seen so much lighting in my life.
Bummer....you all should've come to Pinedale-it was nice and the firework show had a live concert and was really good. Hopefully next year will be better for you all!!
