A weekend full of LOVE!

This year we worked really hard with Emma on what Valentines Day is and why we celebrate it. We wanted her to be able to be a part of it this year. So I ordered her some super cute valentines that had her picture on them and then for FHE last week we talked about who she loved and made a list to send them out. Then on Tuesday I had her help me make sugar cookies. She was more of a pain that a help but I wanted her to work on them. Then Friday we hand delivered them to those who lived close. I hope that she understood what we were doing, because it something I always hold dear is doing fun things for others!
Our valentines celebration started on Friday. Aaron surprised me by ordering me flowers. We decided not to buy gifts and to use the money to buy a memory foam mattress. It was worth all the money, it is amazing and really helps us sleep better. So needless to say the flowers were a HUGE surprise. And to make it even better they were a bouquet of tulips. My favorite flower and also our wedding flowers. Then that night Emma and I went and got a heart shaped pizza and shared with Aaron when he got off work.
Saturday we got up and made her pink pancakes, this is something Aaron had done for me since we were married and I thought Emma would get a kick out of it. And she did, we also gave her the movie Madagascar which she referes to as " I want to move, move it movie" She loved it so much she ate with it under her arm, it was so cute... wish my camera was back so I could capture it. Then we dropped Emma off and Aaron and I went to IF to do sealings. The temple was SO PACKED. I have never seen it like that, there was people everywhere and we almost could not find a parking spot. It was very strange, we thought it would be a nice calm day to go... we were wrong. Then we did some shopping and ate lunch at Red Robin. Then we drove home and went to the dance our stake put on with some of our friends. It was such a great time. A real flashback to our stake dance nights! We had such a fun time and then ended it with Ice Cream.
Aaron and I have so much that we love and appreciate and it was so wonderful to tell/show all of those that mean something to us! But I think the one thing we love the most is Christ and the sacrifice that he made for us! I think Valentine's day is a wonderful opportunity for us to think and celebrate his love for us. I hope that each of you had a day filled with love and those you love. Know that each of your friendship means so much to us.

Hey there! I love Valentine's Day too! I can't wait until Mikayla is old enough to help me make cookies! Yea, I do take Mikayla's pictures. I try to do it each month on her monthly b-day, but I'm usually about 2 weeks late each time. I was exactly 2 weeks for her 7 month pics. I'm starting my photography business. Once the blog is up and running I will let you know the site...it's almost ready! Thanks for the compliments!

That's awesome! Sammi loves her new friend Emma and the Valentine is on the fridge (at Sammi eye level of course). Man, I keep hearing about some awesome stake dances for Valentine's Day and I think we really went to the wrong activity...our ward had an activity that night, but it was a game night/dancing and Cory and I were really the only couple that actually danced more than a couple songs.
