Emma's quirkyness

Emma just seems older and older each day! And lately there have been some cute things that she has been doing that I thought I would share. The first is both cute and aggravating at the same time. Aaron and I have really have tried to watch what we say around our little parrot but one day Grammie said "oh my gosh" around her. Now everything is "oh my gosh... oh my gosh" the first time or two it was really cute but now she is getting really lazy and it starts to come out as the real thing. So we had a nice talk about why we don't say that and I taught her my phase "oh my goodness" well it has not stuck. I will remind her and she just looks at me and giggles. Oh what a strong willed little girl!

The next thing is WONDERFUL! Emma is finally going to Nursery and staying the whole time. It has now been over a month. I didn't want to say anything and jinx it so I wanted to wait. And last week she even helped her little friend that was having a hard time. I am so relieved, she has been the hardest child to get to go. All the crying, falling asleep, pounding on the door and clinging to me like they were killing her. I am so proud of her... it only took us a year :) (The first picture is of her on her first day of nursery and the next is one from last month!)

The next is another saying that she has picked up. " I don't care" has now taken over her life. Anything that I ask her is now followed with that phrase. Emma what do you want for dinner " mom I don't care!" Like the other it was cute at first but now is getting old and it really is a taste of patience to pretend I did not hear it and finish what I was doing with her.

Lastly, Emma has just started getting into movies. Until October she didn't watch anything but her beloved signing time videos ( by the way I would recommend to anyone with young kids!) it first started with over the hedge which is affectedly referred to as "animals" in our house. Now we have a little Nemo and Cars sprinkled in and a new addition of WALL-E since last week. But this weekend she picked up a new one that doesn't quite fit in with the rest of her loves, The Santa Clause movie. I was on the Disney Channel and we turned to it thinking it would be a good movie to watch, she was memorized with it. So now 5 times later she is hooked~ It is a good thing it is almost Christmas time because I have a feeling that she will watch a lot!

Thank you for bearing with me as I gush about my little girl! I am trying to do better about recording about our lives so this was mostly for that. They sure don't stay little very long and I want to cherish these times forever!

She is cute, It seems like you really start to realize the things you do and say when your kids start to repeat them to you.

Wouldn't it be nice if we had instruction manuals for our kids! Congratulations on nursery - that is HUGE and so nice to be able to go to class without worrying about her!
