A little bit country ..a little bit rock and roll

Emma's spring rectal was May 15th at Poky high school. This years theme was a little bit county, a little bit rock and roll. Emma's ballet dance was to the El Paso song. Which we thought was so cute because that is where Aaron grew up. It was cute because he taught her the words to the first part of the song so every time she would practice the song she would be singing "out in the west Texas town of El Paso... I feel in love with a Mexican girl!" It took a lot of practicing to get her to not sing it for her recital. And her tap song was to paperback writer.

So early that morning I took the girls and we sat threw the dress rehearsal. Emma was decked out in curlers so she has curly hair for later, but she was so excited to dance on the big stage again. After several hours of waiting her class was told they could go home. After taking her out to lunch we ran home to get her all decked out. Curly hair and make up what more could she ask for! Then off to the high school to get good seats. We learned last year that if you don't come really early you get crappy seats, so we went really early and got some good ones up front. I took her down to her dressing room which was so cute, the high school is over 100 years old and is just beautiful in the details.
Then it was time to start. My mom, Kourntey and my best friend Amber and her daughter all came to watch. We loved the whole show they did such a great job! Emma improved so much since her last recital. And did most of the dance with her class. It was a sad night because he dance studio is closing and this was their last performance. We have had a wonderful year learning to dance and hope her next studio will be a great!
