A new member of the church

Our niece was baptised a member of the church on Saturday March 27th. What a spiritual but long day! I had a really long and stressful week that week and didn't want to pack and have to sleep somewhere else. At this point Stella was not sleeping well. She was waking up between 4-6 gassy and wanting to be held. So I really wanted to sleep at home. well the Baptism was at 9 down in Springville. So that meant we had to leave our house at 5! We thought the kids would go back to bed and it would be a quite ride down. Well both of them decided to stay awake. Crazy kids.

We had spent the week before talking alot about what was going to happen to Hailey and why we get baptized. It was such a wonderful time to teach her a gospel fundamental and get her excited when she was going to be able to be baptized. It was funny when we talked to her about the holy ghost she told us "I already know about the ghost" when I asked her what she knew she said "he tells you when the big black dog is coming to get you" I didn't know what she was talking about but could gather that she had learned a story in primary about the holy ghost. I love her teachers and are grateful for the hard work in teaching her!

The baptism was such an amazing experience. To see our little niece make such a wonderful decision and to see her so happy and the spirt was so strong it felt like it wrapped itself around us like a blanket. I love seeing our families getting stronger and stronger in the gospel. we are so lucky.
After the service we had a brunch at Aaron's sisters house and then we got to visit the rest of the day. It was so hard to leave because we love spending time with Aaron's family. But with being up so long we needed to get back home. so at 11:30 we made it back home. We were all so tired but we had such a wonderful day it was so worth it!

There was a story in the "Friend" about a big black dog a couple months ago, I wonder if that's what she was referring to? When we took Sammi to the open house in Rexburg and then Twin, she was convinced that SHE would be baptized in the temple, NOT the church house. We tried to explain that you had to be 12 to be baptized in the temple and she replied "Ok, then I'll get baptized when I'm 12!" Silly kids! She understands better now, but it was sure funny.
