learning to stand up

I know this happened a couple of weeks ago, but I wanted to get the pictures before I posted about it! On September 12th I did something that I have never done before. I have followed politics for the past couple of years and spend a lot of time discussing it with my dad, but that was as far as I have ever taken it. Well for any of you that are familiar with Glenn Beck know that September 12th is a day that is very important. Here is his video he put together for the day!

In 2001 September 12th was the day that we all came together as a country after a very horrible tragedy. Nothing mattered on that day, we were all Americans that had more pride and love for our country than every before. Well this year many people gathered to celebrate this. My dad and I wanted to be a part of it.

My dad was not born in this country but came over when he was a child. He loves this country unlike anyone I have ever known because he knows what it is like to have lived somewhere else. His passion has always inspired me and as of late I have really tried to be a part of. So we went to the rally on 9/12 and we took the little kids and spent the afternoon with people who also loved this country. What a wonderful time it was. We did not feel alone, but where surrounded with people who also felt the same way. I wanted to post this not to get into political debates, because we all have different opinions and because of this wonderful country we live in we can have. But to share with you a wonderful experience we had and I wonderful thing I was able to teach Emma. I hope she will always love and appreciate this nation. When we were at time out for women one of the talks focused on the importance of this nation. If it was not for America we would not have the gospel restored! What a wonderful thing America has given us. The gospel that is restored to us today!

Thanks for the great post, this is something Chuck and I have considered doing also. We live in a great country and we need to remember the reasons we have the freedoms we do.

That is really neat that you were able to take a stand like that and set a great example for Emma.
You look great!

thanks for sharing this. It is hard for me to get involved with polatics because I feel like I can't make a difference. Also that neither side is completely right or honest. But I know that it is important!
oh and you are having a baby. Yeah

Wow, what a great video. Glen Beck is awesome--- and I love the pictures! How is bathroom remodeling for the Adams fam coming along? That stuff always seems to take longer than you think it will...
